Re: Mbappe
I was warming to him a bit and then he goes and acts like a twat. I was fuming when he didn’t give the ball back towards the end of the game, school playground stuff.

Agree with Mike that he’ll be targeted. Either that or he’ll get some sort of Owen like injury and lose his pace. Or both of course.

Granary Mbappe

Re: Mbappe
he's very talented and very quick but it's worrying he's already displaying bad traits, whether it be play acting or taking the piss. it could make him a target for some naughty tackles if it continues

He's decent but no Georgie Parris who btw "took no sh*t" I'll have you know.

celebrate Mbappe if you wish ,
but why you feel the need to dig out Graham Paddon on this thread ' a great servant to the club ,,suprises me.

Yes. And I would say to Walker you go where he goes. Mbappe will go central and then out wide so it will mean the defence shuffling. But you lose Mbappe at your peril and Walker is the only player we have that will be able to keep up with him.

Re: Mbappe
IF we manage to get to the final and play France, we could finally be glad Kyle Walker is in the team. We'd need someone ourselves with pace to burn if we're going up against him.

Owen's only attribute was pace, lolz!!!!

Re: Mbappe
I think he has the makings of a player who can really hit the heavy heights. He has pace to burn but that isn't all what his game is about. When he won the penalty against the argies the way he positioned his body against rojo it showed years above his actual experience. The next Theirry Henry. Just hope for his own sake he gets away from ligue 1 as its a pub league.

Re: Mbappe
Owen was a great player for 2-3 years, absolutely top drawer, injuries done him in the end.

Re: Mbappe
You'll never be a great player is you're only weapon is pace. Michael Owen found that out the hard way.

Pace can be defended against, as Denmark showed in the group games. He is a decent player, but once his pace starts to go in his mid 20's people will wonder what the fuss was all about.

Re: Mbappe

Injuries did for Owen. His game was all about pace and they robbed him of a yard or two. He remained quick enough to be a very good striker but it robbed him of being up there with the very best.

Re: Mbappe
He just ran away from players.
It was a pen because he burst past the defender who panicked because he was getting away from him so there wasn’t any question of keeping him away from goal.
You could maybe argue the first contact was outside the box but was a pen all day for me.
Uruguay have two top strikers and a strong defence. If Cavanni plays they have a chance as France are just as capable of reverting to how they played in the group matches.

They have to sign him, it was only structured that way to get around FFP.

No Messi. But could be the new Henry.?

Definitely Va Va Voom.

Re: Mbappe
Mbappe has already had an amazing season for Monaco which led to his loan move to PSG last season and a huge fee if they sign him.

He’s definitely no flash in the pan.

Re: Mbappe
A lot of people comparing her performance yesterday with Owen's against the Argies in 19998.

Whilst Owen had some moments though he never truly got to the world class level and his career pretty much petered out by the time was 25. No guarantee that any player is going to rise to and stay at the heights their teenage potential promises.
